HLADRB1*15:03 Haplotypes Without DRB5
A large-scale NGS-based cohort study evaluating the frequency, linkage disequilibrium, and haplotypic diversity of HLA-DRB1*15:03 with absent DRB5 in transplant populations.
This study analyzed 6268 transplant-related samples using NGS-based HLA typing to investigate the co-occurrence of HLA-DRB115:03 and DRB501:01. While strong linkage disequilibrium was observed, approximately 8.7% of DRB1*15:03-positive individuals lacked DRB5, challenging the assumption of consistent co-inheritance. Extended haplotype analysis identified specific HLA-B and -C combinations predictive of DRB5 absence. These findings refine understanding of HLA haplotype structure and have implications for donor matching, transplant risk assessment, and disease association studies.
