Impact of FLT3 internal tandem duplication and NPM1 mutations in acute myeloid leukemia treated with allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation

Cytotherapy· 2021· 7 citations

A transplant-outcome study assessing whether FLT3-ITD and NPM1 mutations retain their prognostic value in AML patients treated with allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation.

This study assessed how FLT3-ITD and NPM1 mutations influence outcomes in adults with cytogenetically intermediate-risk acute myeloid leukemia who received uniform myeloablative allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. By comparing relapse, survival, and risk across molecular subgroups, the research examined whether transplant biology alters the prognostic relevance of these mutations. Findings suggested that HCT may mitigate mutation-associated risk differences seen in chemotherapy settings.
